This session will discuss the rapidly growing use of phone records in criminal cases to include:

• What type of data is retained by cell phone providers.
  

• How to get the data and how the data can be helpful in both inculpating and exculpating accused offenders.

• Both presenters have attended a 40-hour training in cell phone location and tracking provided by Zetx, a company which produces software that imports the data into Google Maps.

Jordan Kilby has been an attorney for ten years. She graduated from University of Montana School of Law in May of 2008. Jordan began her career as a public defender in the Missoula Public Defender office. She worked briefly as a private defense attorney before becoming a Deputy County Attorney in May 2012. She has prosecuted special victim cases, handled mental health commits and currently works in the general division of the Missoula County Attorney’s Office.
